I first created these fun jar tops for a kids birthday party where they stored doggy shaped madelines on the table. Since then I have used the jars to store nuts and seeds where they make a fun addition to my kitchen shelves.

They are fun and easy to make. Pick up a set of plastic doggies from a discount store like Dealz or Euro Saver. Then simply super-glue the dogs feet to the tops of clean jam jar lids. Select one or more spray paint colours and on a well covered area, preferably outside, give them an even spray. Allow to dry and they are ready to top the jars! These should be hand-washed and dried carefully.

Get creative and dream up all sorts of things you could stick to the jar tops. My next project is to create some pretty jars to store things like cotton wool pads and cotton buds on my bedroom dresser.
