This year I was delighted to finally make it to the Ballymaloe Literary festival in Cork where passionate foodies from all over the world gathered in an electric atmosphere. In between the fun and friendships that engulfed the Big Shed, I squeezed in a No Bake Baking demo on the Kerrygold stand. It was one of the first outings for my new recipes and so I was a small bit excitable. Even more thrilling for me was the fact the first consignment of my book, No Bake Baking, was hot on the heels of the cows that were ushered out of a shed to make way for Kenny’s Bookstore. I didn’t at all squeal like a pack of piglets all having their tails pulled at the same time.
A sunny afternoon foraging with Rene Redzepe and Alice Flower on the enviable grounds of Ballymaloe cookery school was followed by a long table dinner hosted by Yotam Ottelingi. All in a days work at Litfest.
To top the weekend off, Donal Skehan and I hosted a food photography and styling workshop in the cookery school where we treated attendees to lots of our tips, knowledge and secrets.
